Who we are
International Platform for Citizen Participation (IPCP) is an International non-governmental organization working actively to foster human rights and local democracy. Founded in 2002, today IPCP is an important INGO connecting the local authorities and civil society. IPCP has members from more then 20 countries that share interests in theory, methods and practice of active citizenship. IPCP promotes discussion among local and regional authorities, schools, vocational centers, foundations and non-governmental organizations dealing with human rights, local democracy and active citizenship and with those in related fields.
Mission:

The purpose of IPCP is to enhance international understanding and friendship through educational, cultural and humanitarian activities involving the exchange of ideas and experiences directly among peoples of different countries and diverse cultures.
IPCP works on :
- strengthening of European integration in different geographical areas including Caucasus;
- active citizenship and citizens' participation;
- fostering of equal opportunities and young people;
- sustainable economic development;
- employment policy, quality of work and social inclusion
The IPCP's working method is based on:
- decentralized and multilateral cooperation: cooperation between local, national and international partners;
- fostering of partnerships: partners exchange best practices and create common projects to reach common benefits;
- technical assistance and training addressed to local authorities, associations and NGOs (capacity building).
It does this through the exchange of experience, ideas and information and supports members to strengthen the quality and effectiveness of the sector.
IPCP offers a range of services to members in order to assist them in developing projects and increasing the networking. IPCP also promotes the sharing of best practice across its members. This is complemented by a range of other communications, including a variety of online and e-communications, all designed to keep members up to date with news and issues that are of relevance to the sector.
